Will opportunity find you ready in 2023? 3 questions to ask yourself to make sure it does.

On the flip side of a problem is an opportunity for impact, influence and increase.

Let’s face it, the world isn’t short of problems right now.

For a hungry, high performing individual who believes there life can count this is the time to be awake and alert at the opportunities that are all around us.

The future promises much but will it find you ready?

A promise is a point in the future that we are believing will arrive. It is something that inspires hope, it excites and increases enthusiasm.

It does however require preparation. 

It requires us to make ourselves ready so that we are able and capable of taking hold of that promise.

Am I willing to pay the price?

Attached to preparation is a price!

There's a price to pay because there is a cost to every promise and very often we're very happy with the promise but not willing to pay the price.

In those moments we struggle to pay the price, to do the hard yards, to break through a pain barrier we need to generate greater clarity on the promise.

To generate that clarity use these three questions…

i) What is a future that would excite me?

(Places to go, people to meet, opportunities to experience, solutions to deliver, change to bring etc…)

ii) What person in the future would benefit the most from all I have learnt so far through my life?

iii) What is in my future that will live beyond me and keep impacting people once I have left this world?

Spend some time journalling answers to these questions to intensify the clarity of the promise. The more our appetite for the outcome increases the greater the passion we have to pay the price.

What is the future that you're expecting?

Does our current behaviour reflect someone preparing themselves accordingly, whether it's developing the skills, attitude or character…are we preparing ourselves for the promise?

Finally…and PLEASE remember this…

We have to become the people capable not only of entering into the promise but of sustaining the promise.

Allow your future promise to instil a conviction in you today that you are able and capable of taking making yourself ready for the future to find you.
